HaMoked – Center for the Defence of the Individual filed an urgent petition in the matter of eight Palestinians who are located in the danger zone near the fence separating the Gaza Strip from Israel without food or water: The eight men, members of Fatah, fled their homes in the Gaza Strip on 25 July 2008, after Hamas forces entered their neighborhood with the intention of killing them. Two of the fugitives were injured during clashes with Hamas and are need of urgent medical treatment and one is a heart patient who needs medication

HaMoked – Center for the Defence of the Individual petitioned the Administrative Court in Jerusalem under the Freedom of Information Act, in a bid to receive information regarding the scope of residency revocation in East Jerusalem during 2006 and 2007: HaMoked also filed a petition on behalf of a resident of East Jerusalem who is married to a resident of the Gaza Strip and whose residency has recently been revoked. The revocation came after many years during which the Petitioner split her life between her husband's home in the Gaza Strip and her family's home in Jerusalem

HaMoked – Center for the Defence of the Individual, The Association for Civil Rights in Israel and Adalah publish a position paper against the proposed Civil Wrongs (Liability of State) Law (Amendment No. 8) – 2008, which passed first reading in the Knesset. The proposed law is intended to prevent residents of the Territories from filing tort claims against the State even in cases in which damage was incurred irrespective of acts of war: The organizations caution that the proposed law is an attempt to revive the law unanimously struck down by nine justices of the Supreme Court for being unconstitutional. The proposed law, if adopted, is destined to be null and void and should be shelved already at this stage

The Supreme Court has confirmed that the Incarceration of Unlawful Combatants Law is constitutional, rejecting the appeals submitted by HaMoked on behalf of two Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who are being held in prison in Israel under the law: The ruling declines to address the Appellants’ cases and ignores the fact that they were arrested 5 and 6 years ago in the Gaza Strip under the Administrative Detentions Law

In response to HaMoked's petition demanding that a bride and her parents be permitted to travel from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank for the wedding, the state demanded that the Petitioners deposit a NIS 20,000 guarantee ensuring that after the wedding they would all return to the Gaza Strip, including the bride: The state accuses HaMoked of disingenuous behavior by concealing the true relief requested in the petition which, according to the state, is the “change of residence” from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank

HaMoked has submitted a petition seeking to clarify the reasons for an intolerable delay of eighteen months in deciding whether to prosecute those involved in an unlawful shooting that led to the death of a Palestinian minor: The day after the petition was filed, the Central District Attorney’s Office decided to close the investigation file “due to absence of guilt”
